John Knowles is a graduate of Phillips Exeter and Yale, who currently lives in Florida. He has written a book on travel, a collection of stories and seven novels. His best knwon work is A Separate Peace.

John Knowles is a winner of the William Faulkner Award and The Rosenthal Award of the National Institute of Arts and Letters. He frequently speaks to university students.
